The long wait is over. In less than one month, you can meet polar bears, penguins and white whales at the world's largest ocean park right here in Shanghai. Yesterday, the park developers announced trial run and official opening dates, reports Shine.
Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park will commence its trial operations on October 1, 2018. The trial run will occur over two phases. During phase one, which lasts until October 19, a limited number of tickets will be available via the park's official website and WeChat. The second phase, from October 20 to November 15, will see all ticket selling channels open to include travel agencies and the park's ticket booths.

The park developers had previously released the ticket prices in July. A regular ticket is priced at RMB299, while weekend, summer vacation and holidays tickets will cost RMB360. Kids between 1-1.4 meters tall, seniors over 65 years old and those with disabilities are eligible for concession tickets priced at RMB170 on regular days and RMB230 on peak days.
Located in Lingang New City in Pudong, the ocean world is easily accessible from downtown via the Metro Line 16. Shuttle buses will be ready at the station to provide a convenient route to the park.

While at the park, visitors will meet rare animals from the North and South Pole at six exhibition pavilions around the park. In addition, there will be animal theaters, 4D cinemas and thrilling rides to enrich the overall experience. If it's impossible to take in all the wonders in one day, visitors can book a room at the park's ocean-themed hotel, and stay the night in the company of dolphins, penguins or even mermaids.
During the trial run, park developers will continuously evaluate the test results and overall operating procedures of the park. Once the test run is complete, the Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park will officially make its debut to the public on November 16.
