That's Shanghai takes a look at the best art exhibitions of the week:
Lose Your Mind: David Shrigley

Sitting at the intersection of art, design and pop culture, Shrigley's solo show combines satire, black humor and an impeccable use of puns in a refreshing contemporary exhibition. It's comprised of over 400 illustrations and a collection of installations, giving you more than enough of a reason to head to the power station of Design - a creative extension of the Power Station of Art. And it's free!
Open Sep 8 - Nov 14, power station of Design.
Painting the Banal: Wu Yiming

Shanghai based Wu Yiming's work captures snapshots from every day life in soft strokes and loose figures. He emphasizes lived experience over the objects themselves, engaging with the spaces between being and nothingness.
Sep 8 - Oct 21, ShanghArt Gallery.
Story of Skin: Haruna SATO

Sato's show reflects the relationship between body temperature and emotion. Between color pallettes, contact and form, this intimate set of works is the artist's first solo show in Shanghai.
Until Oct 7, Shun Art Gallery.
Capricious Structures

This multimedia exhibiton in Xintiandi showcases a number of independent projects from young artists living in Hangzhou, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and London/Amsterdam. Through visuals, they've set out to restructure narratives around concepts like urban conditions, industrialization, technology, economy and race, in a multidimensional exploration of identity and existence. And they have lazers. A lot of them. The exhibition closes next week, so be sure to catch it while it's still up.
Until Sep 14, chi K11 art museum. Buy tickets here.
