May 10: Barker
Shanghai
electronic music promoters Say Yes bring over British producer Sam
Barker for a show at Elevator. Known for his left-field techno and
rhythmic complexity, he’s one half of prominent duo Barker &
Baumecker and the co-founder of Berlin label Leisure System.

May 10: Tensnake
Major German DJ and producer Tensnake comes to Shanghai for a set at Le Baron. Best known for the catchy track ‘Coma Cat,’ he deals in warm and inviting house and disco. He’s also performed at major festivals like Coachella and released an acclaimed full-length album, Glow, in 2014.

May 11: Afrobund with Gregor Salto
Originally
from Holland and a regular performer in Ibiza, Gregor Salto explores
pop, soul, African beats and Latin house in his sets. Catch his latest
performance at UNICO Shanghai for their Afrobund party, with live
percussion by Thomas Dyani and a warm-up set by DJ S.Kiv. Free entry
before midnight with password ‘Coco.’

May 11: Habibi Funk
Habibi
Funk is a Berlin-based label and the DJ moniker of its founder, Jannis
Stuertz. He seeks out rare funk, jazz and soul made in the Arab world
throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s, signing and reissuing them for a

May 11: Brew Cruise
Shanghai's
annual Beer Week (May 11-20) kicks off this weekend with the Boxing Cat
Brew Cruise, a 3-hour, 400-person boat ride along the Huangpu River
with free-flow beers from 5 Shanghai breweries (Boxing Cat Brewery,
Goose Island, theBREW, Dr. BREW, and Shanghai Love Brewing Company).
There will also be party snacks, DJs, dancing and prime city views.

May 11: Arkaik
Shanghai-based drum ’n bass producer Arkaik celebrates the release of his remix of ‘Mauroq - Your Own’ with a release party at ALL. Expect drum ’n bass all night with Siesta and Turner in support. Free entry before midnight if you follow Phreaktion Music on WeChat.

May 11: Beat the House
Bar
Rouge’s recurring Friday party devoted to all things house music
returns. Head there to dance to a set of house by DJ Keint.

May 11: Maryna Space
Celia’s Techno Train brings China-based DJs from cities around the mainland to perform in Shanghai. Their latest guest is Maryna Space, a resident Shenzhen’s underground spot Pepper. Head there for a solid late-night dance party. Entrance includes a drink.

May 12: White Night on the Bund
An
annual Bund tradition, White Night returns to eight venues including
Bar Rouge, which is hosting the official after-party. This glamorous
night features music by Canine and a sea of white-clad guests. The cover
charge is RMB100, but those dressed in head-to-toe white get in for
free.

May 12: La Chouffe Party Vol. 5
Le Cafe des Stagiaires throws their latest La Chouffe party at their Found 158 location. The outside bars and terrace are ready with a DJ set by Tofu, and La Chouffe beers are on offer for RMB30 a pop.

May 12: Flair Terrace Opening
Flair’s terrace offers up one of the city’s most prime views of the skyline at a unique angle thanks to its location along the Pudong side of the river. Head to MVP’s terrace opening party, which has a casino theme, to take in the views and win some prizes. Free entry before midnight with RSVP to events@mvpshanghai.com

May 12: Dusk Till Dawn
The Nest embraces its nightlife side with this dusk till dawn party. Expect beats by DJs TYS and Fab D. Verse, plus special shots and cocktails, and a late dinner set from 9pm onward.

May 13: Alter: San Soda Rooftop Party
Newly
launched rooftop party series Alter returns with their second
installment on Pop's open air terrance this Sunday. Head there to dance
in the sunshine and into the night with beats from Belgian DJ San Soda,
who meshes Chicago house and Detroit techno with disco and Afrobeats.
