Hey all you Star Wars fans out there. We know you’re eagerly awaiting Star Wars Day – May the Fourth be with you. But guess what? You have even more reason to celebrate your favorite film franchise this year because the Stars Wars Run is coming to Shanghai for the first time ever. To register, just click here!

The Stars Wars Run will take place on May 6, just two days after the official Star Wars Day. Partipants will be invading Shanghai Oriental Sports Center on Sunday morning for the fun-filled event. The Star Wars-themed run has taken place in countries around the world – Argentina, Brazil, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan – but this is the first time it will come to Chinese mainland

For those of you who might not know what we're talking about, Star Wars Day became a thing after the release of the first film in the ultra-popular franchise, Star Wars: A New Hope (1977). Since then mega-fans have coined the phrase ‘May the Fourth be with you’ and play on words from the famous catchphrase ‘May the Force be with you.’ And that's why Star Wars Day falls on May 4 each year.

Watch (VPN off):

In early May, fans across the world get involved in all sorts of Star Wars shenanigans. And this year, Shanghai fans, families and runners can participate in what is sure to be an unforgettable event.

Don’t worry if you’re not an experienced runner. This family-friendly event is open to everyone. There will be two races: a 10-kilometer competitive run and a 3-kilometer non-competitive run. Racers can also choose which side of the Force they want to be on – Light or Dark. And yes, themed T-shirts and medals will be provided to all participants.
