Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson invaded Shanghai last week to promote his latest film, Rampage. Along with costar Naomi Harris, Johnson was seen walking the red carpet at the Shanghai Film Museum Sunday. Johnson, Harris and director Brad Peyton later attended the film’s premiere at the Shanghai Film Art Center, Shine reports.
Johnson did take a risk traveling to Shanghai in order to promote Rampage, as his girlfriend is expected to give birth to their second child later this month.
“We’re expecting probably within the next two weeks so I’m on Code Red, high alert,” Johnson said on Tuesday night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Despite being on high alert, Johnson traveled to Shanghai on Friday.
“I have got to go, but we have an understanding,” Johnson said. “As of now, the plan is, because as of now the doctor said we should be OK. The baby should be born when it’s due, which is April 25. So, we’ll see. We’re taking a chance here. We’re taking a shot. I have to go to Shanghai, then I have to go to London for Rampage.”
The film was adapted from a popular video game series and is about a highly intelligent gorilla that takes a monstrous turn. Rampage will debut in China on April 13.
