All Weekend: Halloween

Shanghai goes all out for the creepiest holiday of the year. From raves to concerts to rap shows to a certified That's Shanghai bash, there's no shortage of events to keep you partying and in costume every night between now and Tuesday. Check here for our full list of Halloween events.

Oct 26: Her Kinda Art

Once a month, Roxie offers three local artists the chance to display their work on the bar's art wall. Head to this center of queer nightlife to see the latest works on display, as three new artists get the chance to showcase. This month’s artworks are Shannon Murphy’s 'Humanity,' Gabby Gabriel’s 'Shanghai Love Notes' and Anna Mohr’s 'Fives Okay, But We Hate Trumpets: Translated Signs of China.'
Oct 26, 7.30pm, no cover. Roxie, see event listing.

Oct 27: Lena Willikens

Stockholm Syndrome brings over German DJ and producer Lena Willikens, who is celebrated for her unique and somewhat spooky sets of EBM, house and techno. Local DJs Ginga and Illsee provide support. Though this is not a Halloween event, the 'ghost-house' tracks on Williken's last album Phantom Delia sound eerie enough to raise a few demons. [NOTE: This event starts at 8pm and ends at 2am.]
Oct 27, 8pm-2am, RMB80. ALL, see event listing.

Oct 27: Celia Reborn

Rising from the ashes like a techno-loving, sleep-deprived phoenix, Celia officially reopens with a full night of performances by all its resident DJs. To highlight its new earlier opening hours, the club is offering free flow booze from 11pm-midnight.
Oct 27, 11pm, RMB100 including a drink (plus free flow between 11pm-12am). Celia, see event listing.

Oct 27-28: Spread the Slice

In perhaps the best collaboration in the history of humankind, Spread the Bagel and Homeslice will be teaming up to seamlessly merge two of New York's favorite foods. For two days only, bagels will be adorned with pizza toppings while pizzas will be found with classic bagel fillings. Just in time for Halloween, this is the Frankenstein of foods you'll be able to sample over this weekend. Friday night also sees a DJ set by Heatwolves and a free shot if you show up in 80s garb.

Oct 27, 7pm-late, Oct 28: noon-7pm. Homeslice, see event listing.

Oct 29: elEFANTE 5th Anniversary Party

201710/elefante2.jpg

Spanish bar and restaurant elEFANTE celebrates their 5th anniversary with an "Ibiza hippie chic" party themed around the famous party island in the 1970s. The ticket price gets you 10 consumption tickets to spend as you please on food and drinks throughout the day on their famous terrace, which will be decked out for the occasion.
Oct 29, 12pm, RMB280 presale, RMB380 door. elEFANTE, see event listing.
