July 12: Radwimps
Japanese alt-rockers Radwimps, who have a massive following in China,
come to Shanghai for a show at Mercedes-Benz Arena. The band first
formed while its members were in high school, and their biggest hits
have been the singles “Order Made” and “Dada."

July 13: Liveroom
Liveroom is a private concert series held at a secret location each month. July’s curator is writer, musician and infamous expat Morgan Short, who chose three bands that fit into a theme of “Relationship Electronics.” Expect ambient and experimental bands (who all also happen to be married couples) playing electronic music. Cover price includes a beer or Jameson cocktail.

July 15: Shake 1 Year Anniversary
Bar,
restaurant and live funk music venue Shake turns one year old this
month. To celebrate, they’re hosting live performances from five of
their most popular singers: Cherry Brown, Denise Minnifield, Redic,
Smokey, and Tarra Conner Jones (pictured) in one of her final
performances before she moves back to the US.

July 15: Hebe
The hugely popular Taiwanese singer and actress, formerly a member of
Mandopop group S.H.E., embarks on a solo tour through China with a stop
in Shanghai at the Mercedes-Benz Arena. The pop diva is adored in China
and abroad and is currently the Chinese-language female singer with the
most views on YouTube.

July 15: Shut Up! Twist Again!
Inferno hosts Bordeaux-based punk band Shut Up! Twist Again! Though they’ve only been active for a few years, they’ve performed over 200 times and toured with other major European punk bands. Shanghainese metalcore band Fighting Back will play in support.
