Finally, the news you've been waiting for: Shanghai Tower's observatory is officially open to the public!
Admission to the observatory atop Shanghai's tallest building costs RMB180 per person. The observatory, which was previously only open for trial operations, will now be open every day from 8.30am to 9.30pm.

The observatory, named the "Top of Shanghai," stands 546 meters above ground and covers 1,000 square meters, according to Shanghai Daily. At the top, you'll be able to see a panoramic view of the city through the giant glass windows.
You'll also get to see what the Shanghai World Financial Center looks like from above:
Upon purchasing a ticket, visitors are first taken through an exhibition before they ride super high-speed elevators that reach the observatory within a minute. Here are some photos from when we visited the exhibition and observatory last summer:

The observatory also has a snack stand, post office and souvenir shop.
Shanghai Tower, which stands at 632 meters tall and covers 137 floors, is the second tallest skyscraper in the world after the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (828 meters).
The rest of the building, which has offices, shops, restaurants and a hotel, is set to open soon.
