Wicked, the subversive story behind the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North made its China debut at Shanghai Culture Square earlier this month. The musical acts as a prequel of sorts to The Wizard of Oz.
With music and lyrics composed by Grammy and Oscar-winning Stephen Schwartz (Godspell, Enchanted), this two-act entertainment is packed with sparkling tunes, including show-stopper ‘Defying Gravity.’
Stars Jacqueline Hughes and Carly Anderson will be singing eight times a week on their tour through the Middle Kingdom, which will stop in Shanghai (April 4-May 14), Beijing (May 21-June 2) and Guangzhou (June 18-27). For more, read our preview of the show.
