If you were out on the Bund last Friday, you might have noticed a new addition to our skyline.
A six-story high loop - currently the highest 360 degree loop in the world - was set up on Shanghai's north bund, which UK stuntman Terry Grant took to conquer. Previously, he competed against Chinese competitor Aarif Lee (Lǐ Zhìtíng) in three 'missions' in which the the winner of them (namely Grant), got to ride the loop.
Rolling in a JaguarF-Pace, Grant had to get his car to reach speeds of up to 80 kilometers an hour before he hit the loop, which has a width of just 13 ft. He came out the victor of the two, attesting the win to his souped up ride.
He also had to withstand at 6.5 g-force while riding the loop (similar to what an astronaut feels during lift off), or risk dropping 19 meters straight down.
This isn't the first time Grant has ridden the loop though. He broke a Guinness World Record during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show on it. And rumor has it, another big Jaguar spectacle will be turning up in a new city soon, whether Grant will be on that one or not, remains to be seen.
