Shanghai's Rainy Season Starts Tomorrow

So much for yesterday's sunshine... this morning's gloomy gray skies and slight drizzle have arrived just in time for yushui (rainy season).

Translated to mean 'rain water,' yushui marks the beginning of wet weather.

Shanghai Meteorological Bureau has stated that the tradition looks like it will follow through this year as today and tomorrow's weather seems typical for the second solar term.

Expect both days to be cloudy with sporadic drizzle with temperatures between 8 and 12 degrees Celsius, tomorrow will be around 6 to 12 degrees.

Sunday, things look a bit drier, and will top out at 17 degrees.

On top of that, Shanghai will be in for a couple days of "moody" weather, as temperatures are expected to see-saw for the next week.

In other words, prep those rain boots and umbrellas, and don't put your winter clothes away just yet.
