Where to Watch the Presidential Inauguration in Shanghai

Ready (or not) to watch the presidential inauguration? A few spots in the city are showing it if you're looking to congratulate (or commiserate) with fellow expats tonight.

The BREW at Kerry Hotel (Pudong)

Need some strong suds to drink down the inauguration? Hop to The BREW where they'll be showing from 11.30pm till late. Arrive early to enjoy their daily BOGO happy hour which runs from 3-8pm.

See listing for The BREW.

Kick it with the DC Women's March @ The Hop Project

If you need some somewhere more local (re: Puxi) to 'hop' to, The Hop Project will be pouring plenty. Pre the pre-game, there is also a bootcamp being organized at Feel Good Fitness to 'walk/work it off' with the DC Women's March. That starts at 6.15pm at Feel Good Fitness, but you must RSVP to Samantha Wong (13761055107 or WeChat: samanthaAwong for the class). A minimum donation of RMB50 will be  donated to the American Civil Liberties Union. Following the workout (or if you're just heading straight there), drinks will start at 7.30pm till late at the Hop Project with no cover fee. RMB5 from selected beer purchases will also go towards the union. (Note: If you couldn't guess, there will be a strong Dems following here).

The Inauguration: Trump @ The Camel (Puxi)

Neither donkey nor elephant, the Camel offers a potentially non-partisan place to watch. The newly revamped Puxi bar will be showing the inauguration at 11.55pm and if you can get in early, you can also take advantage of their happy hour, which goes from 2-8pm and gets you RMB30 on select drinks.

See listing for The Camel (Puxi).

Cages

The sports megabar will also be showing the inauguration, and if you think you'll be in the mood for batting practice during it, no better place than here. They'll also be showing the Shanghai Sharks take on the Fujian Sturgeons beforehand (7.35pm) if you're up for a little local bball watching too.

See listing for Cages.

The Shed

Looking to revel with the Republicans? Head to the Shed, where the Republicans Overseas Shanghai will be watching the inauguration. Starts 11pm-late.

See listing for The Shed.
