Here are all the new restaurant and bar openings we featured in our October 2016 issue.
Restaurants
The Fellas Terrace
Shanghai certainly has its quota of Italian restaurants filled up, but glamorous and affordable rooftop bars? We're all ears. The Fellas Terrace, situated just shy of the Bund on Yan'an Dong Lu, does both of these things, and with a crazy good view of the Huangpu River. The proprietor has teamed up with Goodfellas, an Italian restaurant on the first floor with a cult-like following to bring the best of both to the venue.
Price: RMB300-500 per person (including alcohol)
Who's going: middle class locals, expats
Good for: cocktails, Bund-side drinking, al fresco dining, dates, Italian food

Midnight Burger
Recently opened on Huashan Lu, Midnight Burger is a neighborhood eatery that slings fries, wings and burgers at roughly Carl’s Jr. prices. With a slogan that reads: “Thug flavors that punch hard and don’t apologize,” we rolled up with high expectations and empty stomachs.
Price: RMB45
Who’s going: young locals and expats
Good for: cheap eats, snacks, hamburgers, casual dining

Bo Sanghai
Bo Shanghai marks Alvin Leung's first independent foray into Chinese mainland, and while it strikes a more formal tone than the HK counterpart, the ten-course, set menu only restaurant takes Chinese ingredients to places they've never been before.

Bars
Tour
Specializing in pairing small bites with cocktails, the Torontonian front man Mack Ross of Tour Bar is a shaman with spirits. Inside, a row of six bar seats position visitors within earshot of him. Ross’ conversation overflows with knowledge and banter, talking customers through the thought process behind each drink. Whether you’re an amateur or an expert drinker, he takes everyone on a geographical and historical tour with each order.
Price: RMB80-300 per person.
Who’s going: Young expats
Good for: Dates, catch-ups, peckish drinkers

The Bunker
From the same people who brought the city trendy drinking spots like Flask and Botanist, The Bunker makes 'progressive drinks' its modus operandi, and shaking them is Taiwanese mixologist Denny Chen.
