There's Going To Be A Huge Parade Next Weekend!

The 27th annual Shanghai Tourism Festival is on next weekend (September 10) and it's kicking off with a record 25 floats prancing down Huaihai Lu.

The Shanghai Disney Resort returns to lead the conga line followed by city floats, such as Nanjing and Taipei. Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang Uygur autonomous regions will also be represented in the parade.

We estimate Disney will steal the show, with their ride replicated with the resort's Enchanted Storybook Castle, but the rest of the lineup sounds pretty good too. Inner Mongolia's will display horses, sheep and yurts, while Jiangsu Province will have monkeys and the Huaguo Mountains, the hometown of the Monkey King.

In case you don't make it to Huaihai, you can still catch the floats post-race as they travel along Sichuan Road N. to Hongkou District, Xingyi Road in Changning District and stop at Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and Yuyao Road.

Shanghai residents can also take advantage of half-price discounts at 'scenic spots' around town during September 10-13, such as the Pearl Tower and Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. Sounds like fun times ahead.
