As well as a range of restaurants and cafés, Xintiandi’s Hubindao Shopping Mall is also home to many lifestyle concept stores offering books, furniture, paintings and more. Newly opened on the ground floor is Mr. Company, a sleek space that carries nearly everything, encompassing the needs of a tasteful modern gentleman, from casual and formal apparel, footwear, fashion accessories, imported grooming products, to BeSound speakers (RMB1,298) and whiskies from Haig Club and Macallan.

Mr. Company

With menswear from homegrown labels like Depot 3 and Vintage Republic, Mr. Company’s core offering is their own tailor-made business suits, dress shirts and leather shoes.

Mr. Company

For suits and shirts, customers can first choose from a large selection of fabrics of different styles, colors, patterns (both Chinese and imported options are available, including Marzoni from Italy), then select their cutting of choice and have their measurements taken on site. Prices start from RMB3,000-4,000 (basic fabric), or RMB7,888 (imported fabric), and the process takes around 20 days. Their tailored leather shoes  start from around RMB4,000 and take around 15 days.

Mr. Company

We’re also told that the store will soon be installing iPads to help customers virtually mix and match different suit and shirt styles, an added function that will visualize the entire look and ultimately make the decision-making process easier. As for future plans, Mr. Company aims to open their second location in another city by 2017.
