The Hong Kong born, Australia based artist presents three series of works at Pearl Lam. In his newest series Storm Resurrection, Young manipulates original paintings by members of China’s first modern art association, the Storm Society, creating abstract works that are then oil painted faithfully onto linen. Naïve and Sentimental Paintings introduces Young’s style that melds contemporary technology with oil painting techniques that reference early Western Modernist paintings. Young will speak on June 4 from 3.30-4.30pm with the versimmage following from 5-7pm.
