Bubba’s 8th annual chili showdown

Mark your calendars, y’all. That time of year is nearly here: Bubba’s annual chili cook-off. Hoorah!

For newcomers, let us break it down: Expect an American - Texan to be specific - celebrated competition of chefs (not necessarily Texans...or Americans) and their teammates, working to mix and mash and meddle up the best homemade chili this side o' da Huangpu. If you’re not so much of a master chef, these chili cookers will each have their own tent for you to sample their wares. Adding to that, there will also be a mouth-watering BBQ, live music all around and it goes without saying there will be booze. Lots and lots of booze.

This year, the 8th consecutive showdown has shifted locations (to find out why, click here), and will be hosted at Bubba’s Cool Docks location.

The southern-style competition has been sanctioned by CASI (Chili Appreciation Society International) as a super regional competition. Yes, it's that legit. Expect great recipes, funky outfits and all around great company. Circle those calendars, click save event on your smartphones or if you’re a little more old school, jot it down in your planners for September 21.
