Greatest moment?
I've got 3!
1. Qualifying for this upcoming Euro 2016 is my single greatest moment for Iceland.
2. When Eidur Gudjonsen and his father (pictured together below) played together in the same game.
3. When Iceland beat the Netherlands 2-0 at home on October 13, 2014. How could we ever forget that? Greatest victory ever.
Worst moment?
Not qualifying for either World Cup or Euros 28 times in a row.
Where you and your countrymen (and women) will be watching it in Shanghai?
First step for qualifying for best venue is serving IS Seafood’s delicious Icelandic cod for fish n’ chips.
Song(s) the fans sing?
Our national anthem was picked by politicians and has been shoved down our throats ever since. In 2014, during match against the the Czech Republic, Icelanders finally had enough and adopted the classic folk song 'Ég Er Kominn Heim (I Am Back Home)' as our new football anthem. We’ve qualified for the Euros every year since.
Biggest rivals?
Denmark. We spent nearly five decades regaining our national self esteem after being crushed by Denmark 14-2 in 1967. We just got it back after qualifying for the Euros this year.
Star Man?
Swansea's attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson (above) will definitely be our key man. His performance can decide if we can qualify for Round 16.
One to watch?
Striker Alfred Finnbogason, who plays for FC Augsburg, on loan from Real Sociedad, is my favorite in Football Manager.
Bad Boy?
We don’t have bad boys in the team. They are all very tough guys, and we all enjoy the lively spirit on the pitch. If I had to bet, I would say captain Aron Gunnarsson (below), who plays for Cardiff, will be the first one
to get a card. Kicking Ronaldo up the ass.
Boy Blunder?
They’re all playing with nothing to lose, so none of them are the weak link.
Heart Throb?
Gylfi. He has so many qualities to help the team, most importantly, and he is our man and he’s handsome.
So what are your chances?
We want to win the Euros for sure! But realistically speaking, I feel qualifying from the groups would be amazing for us.
