New Shanghai Disneyland Menu is...Questionable

Disney's been keeping us hanging over the last few months, slowly drip feeding us details of the new park that's set to open in Pudong this June. We gasped when we saw aerial photos of the park, ooh-ed when they gave us a sneak peek of the rides... but seriously what the Donald Duck is going on with these photos of the new Disneyland menu?

Supposedly marrying elements of traditional Disney shapes and Shanghai cuisine, the menu will supposedly feed the resort's hungry masses. But if these pictures are anything to go by, well, let's just say people might be packing their own snacks for the day.

Mickey Mouse Peking duck pizza, anyone?

And for dessert, whatever's going on in this picture? It looks like a disembodied Donald Duck beak served next to a curious waffle/Yorkshire pudding hybrid, but we can't be sure.

Mickey also tries his hand at Canto cooking with this surprisingly elaborate rendition of huadan xiaren (滑蛋虾仁, scrambled eggs and shrimps), albeit with the unwelcome addition of carrots and peas.

Fair to say we won't be giving peas a chance in this instance.

Even more horrifying is this hongshao rou (红烧肉, braised fatty pork), melded into the shape of a Mickey head. Seriously, is this one large piece of pork or the amalgamation of many? Hopefully the former, but who knows?

Nice work on the bok choi rosettes though, we're guessing that's Minnie's touch.

Xinhua also reports that Mickey Mouse meaty mooncakes will also be making an appearance, so be sure to save space for those.

No doubt the 'interesting' Mickey menu is welcome news to the park's other dining outlets, which will include Element Fresh, Ippudo, Coconut Paradise and Blue Frog
