Shanghai’s halcyon jazz age is written in the history books, but the city continues to thrive as one of the world’s elite blues and jazz cities. Since opening in the 1990s, Cotton Club has played a central role in the city’s music scene. On Tuesday June 30 they’re celebrating the incredible milestone of their 5,000th performance with a major blow out. Doors open at 9pm and the Cotton Club Band starts wailing at 9.45pm with promises that “we’ll keep going until we get dragged out.” We caught up with owner Greg Smith ahead of the big night...
