"Encounter with the Prado" opens at the Middle Longhua station. This exhibition transforms exit 1 of lines 7 and 12 into a gallery with some of the most important works of Western art. Through twenty-nine life-size reproductions of some museum pieces, this exhibition seeks to remove Rubens, Dürer, Rembrandt, Diego de Velázquez, and Francisco de Goya, among others, from their "habitat" to create an unexpected encounter between the artists and their public. The aim is to invite subway users to slow down and take a few minutes to appreciate the works that have influenced world art history.
