As part of Baturu Festival and the Women's Festival of Madrid, Miguel de Cervantes screens  Sanmao's documentary: "Sanmao, la novia del desierto", filmed by the Spanish filmmakers Marta Arribas y Ana Pérez de la Fuente.
In the 70s, Chinese writer Sanmao lived a passionate love story with Spanish diver José María Quero. They traveled to the Sahara, where Sanmao portrayed her everyday experiences into the book Stories of the Sahara. Since her first text, she became a best-seller, and she never stopped traveling. The documentary is based on her biography.
