Organized by V/COLLECTIVE, the OPENFILE Contemporary Art Festival will be launched in Venue B1, West Bund Art Center, Shanghai from October 15 to 17.

The First OPENFILE Contemporary Art Festival has invited 30 artists in total from all over the world, including internationally renowned Los Angeles trendy artist Steven Harrington, British contemporary artist Philip Colbert, French minimalist artist DFT, British doodle artist Jon Burgerman, American artist Jayde Fish, Finnish wizard artist Daniel Palillo as well as other domestic and foreign illustration artists. OPENFILE hopes to replace the display mode of traditional art with the narrative one with visual, audio, interactive and ambient senses, and by static works, artistic devices, new media and other medium forms, change fundamentally the audiences’ original understandings of illustration arts and take on an all-round immersive art feast for illustration-lovers. OPENFILE will conduct deep cooperation with famous brands such as LI-NING, HENNESSY CLASSIVM, MARVIS and SMILEY represented by FIPO CHINA. By enabling illustration arts to have a more refreshing intersection with daily lives and the commercial world, OPENFILE is to present to the public the inclusive illustration art and its spiritual core of “Lighten the Words and Expressions”.

OPENFILE has in total set up six major themed areas: “Character Casts” where artists demonstrate their fascinating abilities to create characters; “Wonder Women” where artists explore the “female power” in the new era in a unique manner; “World-Making” where artists take you on a tour to the 3D ultra-realistic digital world; “Sublime Stories” where Creators draw the softest stories in their hearts with brushes; “Fuzzy Future” where future explorers open up the age of healing; “Lyrical Lines” where emotional lines construct the poetic gardens in the imagination of artists.
