Join us in an exploration of the western part of beautiful, tree-lined Yuyuan Road. Situated outside the Concessions, this street was a favorite of the Chinese elite, and this walk reveals a marvellous mix of old Shanghai: the missionaries’ secret door of hope, underground revolutionary lairs, ornate mansions for tycoons, collaborators and mistresses, a rocket scientist -- and a notorious cabaret.
