Inferno's taking the DeLorean back all the way back to the original Joker. No not Cesar Romero, farther back to the era of silent film (well near the end of it). Presenting the 1928 classic The Man Who Laughs. In the film, Lord Clancharlie, is sentenced to death in an Iron Maiden (cue bill and ted air guitar). His son, already dealt a shitty hand with the name of Gwynplaine, is surgically disfigured to have a permanent smile on his face. He grows up as a circus freak, laughed at and mocked by humanity for a living (think Nickleback).
