In anticipation of the reunion tour of one of Beijing’s most influential and revered punk bands, JOYSIDE, Specters hosts a screening of seminal documentary Wasted Orient.

“WASTED ORIENT is the story of Beijing punk rock band Joyside and their first tour in a country whose rock 'n' roll scene was still in its infancy. Inspired by Johnny Thunders and the philosophies of American punk, Joyside decide to spread their beer-soaked message across the countryside, filming every minute of it. The boys share their experiences of China through interviews in public toilets, countless binge drinking sessions, and in their songs.
