WITNESS is a diverse collection of short, original performances by experienced and emerging playwrights and performers in Shanghai. The show explores the subtle, painful, and complex moments of our lives and asks questions about identity, culture, family, violence, sexuality, abandonment, and belonging.  Through the alchemy of performing stories and bearing witness, we come together to create moments of truth.

Six Minutes and 20 Seconds, by De Anne Dubin, honors the lives lost in the Parkland school shooting in February, 2018, and highlights the void gun violence creates in the world.

Pounding Yams, by Stephanie Zofia Nwenwu, is a cross-cultural, multi-generational story of grief, guilt, holding on, and  learning to let go.
