Funk and soul club Shake dedicates a weekend to Canada's finest culinary export: poutine. For two nights only, they're serving poutines with rare toppings like hongshao rou, teriyaki beef tongue, foie gras truffle, and more. Why poutine? Shake's chef, Danyi Gao – the recently-crowned champion of one of China's biggest cooking shows, "Chef Nic" – spent time in Quebec last year starring in videos for Canada's "Keep Exploring" campaign, including an episode where she made a hongshao rou poutine that people have been asking about ever since. Starts at 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, followed by live music. Poutines are 78rmb each or 150rmb for three.
