The event, accreditated by the World Tower Racing Association and the Vertical Marathon Association in the Asia Pacific Region, is the highest-level vertical marathon event in China this year. "The vertical marathon," started in 1978 when racers climbed the Empire State Building. Climbing the skyscraper with both feet also ties the sport to city landmarks.
