Room 303 presents Ocean Lam (Hypnotic / Social Room / HK)
MIIIA

Room 303: a monthly hosted by MIIIA dedicated to outer space tripping, acid bassline illusions, losing control and the techno that takes us there. It will showcase artists - internationally, Asia-based, and local - creating new pathways and pushing the boundaries of sound while keeping tight grooves intact. Past guests include Bambounou, Traumer and Rebekah.

Since her 2008 debut, Ocean Lam has positioned herself as one of the leaders in Hong Kong's electronic music scene. A former resident at Yumla, she then founded two long-running nights at Bassment Bar, as well as Hypnotic hosting international stalwarts including Ryan Elliott, Oskar Offermann, Deetron, Dirt Crew, Dave DK, I-Robots, and Till von Sein, to name but a few. She is also music director for Social Room, a new underground club in HK run by the original Bassment crew, manage all the DJ bookings.

Outside of her own HK events, Ocean has been the go-to choice to support other international names like Sven Vath, Jimpster, Efdemin, Namito, Luke Hess, Nick Hoppner, Axel Boman and Marko Furstenberg. She has had headlining slots at Clockenflap for three years running, Wonderfruit in Thailand, and Quest festival in Hanoi. Her performances abroad in Berlin, Sweden, Amsterdam, Belgium & Barcelona as well as her recent releases have given the world a reason to keep an ear towards Hong Kong's blossoming electronic underground.

MIIIA hosts the night. The Chinese-Canadian producer has released on ECI Korea, Berlin's Be Sure and Co:Motion, the Shanghai label/collective she's co-founded. She's returned from her recent European tour and ADE debut with a bag full of strange, groove-heavy, futuristic and textured techno to fill the space in her Room.

It goes down at Elevator- Shanghai's new cozy dance home for underground sounds, powered by a killer MODE AUDIO sound system, fresh juices, ping pong and hands-up/heads-down moments on the floor.
