Va Bene is a modern Italian restaurant, where timeless and innovative dining intersect, blending contemporary Italian style with classic Italian influence. Established in October 2001, Va Bene Shanghai has been an iconic restaurant in the city and the only Italian restaurant that ranked in Travel+Leisure's top 5 Best Restaurants in Shanghai 2009.
“Beauty in Black” is our new concept for Va Bene Shanghai, which has been under renovation. Deconstructed and reconstructed, Va Bene Shanghai has re-opened in early August 2015 with brand new and distinct restaurant design, simple and strong. In the meantime, the logo of Va Bene has also been re-designed, renewing its identity from the past and showing its resolution to bring the freshest dining experience to customers. Modern Italian cuisine with a touch of fun and high quality dining service, is what you will experience in the new Va Bene.
Young & talented Executive Chef Natalino Ambra is from 2013 with Va Bene Shanghai, planting his energetic passion & creative mindset into every single dish of contemporary Italian cusine. Natalino started his career throughout Italy in the early years also working at “Castiglion del Bosco” by Ferragamo, and found himself stretched across to Dubai at “Armani Hotel & Resort” as part of the opening team, gaining also the title of “Ambassador of the Year Heart of House 2011”.
Restaurant Manager & Mixologist Daniele Baldo joined Gaia Group and VaBene Shanghai in 2013 after his experiences in Venice, London and Abu Dhabi working for the Italian brand Cipriani and for Hilton in Park Lane.
His mission is to look after every single Guest and make them journey an amazing experience, something memorable… his quote is “With Love, Passion and Happiness”.
Two Michelin Starred Chef Enrico Bartolini, with his mantra “Be Contemporary” has produced the first of many exquisite menus he will create for Va Bene a brand new dining experience.
