Located at the former Nanshi Power Station, HP. EXPO HOUSE retains the pattern of the past such as the factory chimney, but its former rudeness as a factory has been shaded off by the remodeling through careful selection of building materials and coherent space design to present a hazy picture scroll of southern Yangtze River in the minds of literati.
Entering the restaurant, you can see the grey-brown marble floor and the front desk. On the wall, there is a vague glimpse of hazy rainy scenery of the Yangtze River. It is elegant and graceful in the decoration of many porcelain and wood carvings. The roof of the house is featured with three-dimensional effect. Through ink, mountain outline, water shape, rough mineral stone and exquisite decorative details, the unique elements of Jiangnan are complementarily set off.
This is the restaurant following MOTT539 founded by Mr. Liu Quanling that specializes in river fresh and Jiangsu cuisine. If you say MOTT539 is a graceful woman coming out of a vintage house of the Republic of China, then HP. EXPO HOUSE is a charming lady of Shanghai Metropolitan.
In spring, there are no less fishes from Yangtze River, so as the food: Steamed Shad in Rice Wine; braised Yangtze River Catfish etc. In summer, you may try cozy brined dishes or wild river shrimps; in autumn, these classic hairy crabs are underway; in winter, CNY eve dinner is warmed up with wines and lambs.
