Du Xiao Yue 4 Description

Here you can sample southern Taiwanese-style minced pork noodles, Ta-a noodle, either dried or in soup.

Ta-a noodles are said to originate in the late Qing dynasty. At that time, there were off seasons for fishing in Taiwan during typhoons (July to September) which was known to fishermen as 'a few months' (Xiao Yue, in pinyin). Thus, the phrase 'Du Xiao Yue' means to tide over a few months of slackness, and Du Xiao Yue Ta-a noodles, created by a fisher Hong Yutou to sell on the street, were as one of their seasonal staples.

Main ingredients

Chinese wheat noodles, shrimp flavored soup, shrimp, coriander, Taiwanese Meat Sauce and garlic
