Matthew Liu Fine Arts Description

Newly founded in 2014 in Shanghai, Matthew Liu Fine Arts is committed to promote modern and contemporary Western art in Asia. Located on the Rockbund, Shanghai’s newest art destination which houses both the Rockbund Art Museum and Christie’s, we hold six one-person exhibitions per year in addition to local and overseas fairs. Periodically, we host lectures, panel discussions and private events in an effort to foster the understanding of Western art. 
Starting with representing Candida Höfer for the first opening exhibition, we scheduled to bring Arranz-Bravo from Spain, Vik Muniz from Brazil, Fernando Prats from Chili etc. in the coming exhibitions. 
Modern and contemporary art have long been the crown jewels in the world of art collecting in the West. Due to a myriad of complicated reasons this work has not received its deserved attention in China. Matthew Liu Fine Arts intends to gradually change that, and to make Chinese collectors truly world players.
