British Airways has launched new-look Executive Club cards and a brand new Bronze tier in a relaunch of its award winning Executive Club.
Each membership tier has been given a distinctive new identity to broaden the club’s appeal.
The new Bronze tier has been created to reward frequent flying blue members who will be promoted to Bronze with just half the tier points they would need for Silver membership
Executive Club members who qualify for the new Bronze card will benefit from:
• Business class check-in
• Seat selection at seven days before departure
• Earning a 25 per cent tier bonus - that's 1.25 Avios for every mile flown
• Bronze tier luggage tags
Frank van der Post, British Airways’ managing director for brands and customer experience, said: “The re-launch of our award-winning Executive club reinforces the huge importance we place on customer loyalty and emphasises that customers are at the heart of everything we do.
“We have created a new Bronze tier and stylish new identities to bring a greater range of rewards and increased recognition.
“The re-launch of the British Airways Executive Club, which now has over seven million members worldwide, is part of a massive £5bn investment we are making across the whole airline on new aircraft, lounges, and technologies for our customers.”
The new blue card design carries a distinctive kite motif to reinforce the theme of flying while the new Bronze cards feature a dramatic silver streak across a Bronze background.
Silver cards show a dynamic sliver ribbon rippling across the front and Gold cards feature a subtle graduated gold front with a bold gold speedmarque in the centre.
Customers can join British Airways’ Executive Club for free. They earn Avios, the airline’s new currency for frequent fliers, according to how often they fly, how far and the type of ticket held.
Blue card members who have already collected 300 tier points or more, can expect to receive their new Bronze card from November 16.
The airline’s frequent fliers will receive the newly designed cards at renewal over the next 12 months.
Currently, members start as Blue card holders and can qualify for a Silver card after collecting 600 tier points, including four British Airways flights and move up to a Gold card after achieving 1,500 tier points, including four British Airways flights.
All Executive Club customers will now be able to collect as many tier points as they can in any one membership year, rather than start again when they’ve reached the next tier level.
The relaunch of the new Executive Club coincides with the official launch of Avios, the new rewards currency for British Airways and Iberia frequent fliers, as well as Airmiles customers, which has also changed its name to Avios.
Executive Club customers can now earn Avios through flying and collecting across a wide range of non-airline partners, such as using the British Airways American Express co-branded credit card. They will be able to spend Avios on flights, upgrades or hotels and car hire.
