Pikey fighting in an Irish pub. Nice.

“ We’re talking one ring, six fights, cheering crowds, hot dogs, beer on tap, blood, sweat, tears and a bit of sawdust thrown in for good measure,” says Snatch Shanghai organizer Ian Bell, who promises the back to basics event will see O’Malley’s take on “the feel of a boxing hall from back in the day.”

“It is going to be night of good old fashioned tear ups from some of Shanghai’s finest expat brawlers,” continues Bell. He and partners Paul Clemit and Ivaylo Ivanov have been involved with the prestigious Brawl on the Bund event in one form or another in the past, but say this night will be “more rough and tumble than glitz and glam, but at only RMB250 a ticket an event all sports fans can enjoy.”

Taking it’s inspiration from Guy Richie’s cult classic Snatch, no doubt we can expect sexy, sexy Brad Pitt look-alikes refusing to take a dive in the fourth, winners being awarded caravans for their mothers and losers being fed to some ravenous swine by the head of an illegal betting syndicate.

If my memory serves me correctly, 16 pigs will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, as greedy as a pig.

Hold on a minute, where were we? Weren’t we supposed to be talking about boxing…

Gladstone Morgan have kindly donated ten tickets for us fight night. Complete the last words of this line from the film Snatch:

"I don't care whether he's the Mohammed 'I'm Hard' Bruce Lee. You can't ______ ________."
