The second quake, registering a magnitude of 3.0, struck the Jiangcheng District of Yangjiang City on October 18 at 10.07am, with a depth of 10 kilometers.

This recent seismic activity has raised concerns as the two earthquakes transpired within a relatively short interval of time, both in the region of Yangjiang City.

According to the CENC's data, within a 200-kilometer radius around Yangjiang City, there have been eight earthquakes of magnitude 3 or higher in the last five years.

The most significant among these was a 5.2-magnitude earthquake that occurred in Beiliu City, Yulin, Guangxi on October 12, 2019.

While these recent earthquakes were relatively mild, registering magnitude 3 and below, many local residents took to social media platforms to share their experiences.

Reports of noticeable tremors were observed in the neighboring areas of Jiangmen City and the popular tourist destination, Hailing Island.
