Pad Thai and Curries at Baan Rim Nam, Luihuitou Resort Sanya

If you haven’t been to Baan Rim Nam at Luhuitou Resort Sanya you are genuinely missing out on delicious Thai dishes and a deep zen atmosphere.

The day that we visited, the water was rippling across their lobby water garden, and it made us feel as though the crazy of our world flowed away with the breeze.

We won’t pretend that all of the dishes are completely authentic, because they’re not. Pork floss dashed on top of some of the fried rice dishes is definitely a Chinese and Cantonese influence rather than authentically Thai.

We suggest asking your waiter to hold off on the floss.

But the curries and pad thai are as original as we can tell though someone who has lived in Thailand for years might feel our tastebuds can’t tell as well as theirs.

The restaurant is pricey in comparison to other international eats in the area (RMB118 for Pad Thai Shrimp and RMB112 for a Chicken Curry), so we suggest heading here for the ambience for a date night rather than specifically for the cuisine. On the other hand, recent guests to Sanya told us their meal here had been one of the best on their trip. We also know that international Chinese love to take guests here for a treat.

For a romantic evening you could pair up a trip to their spa or pick our favorite Thai spas in Sanya. Located in Dadonghai, most of the masseurs are actually from Thailand and some speak more English than Chinese.
