There’s nothing like a glass of bubbly to soothe your clammy brow in the midst of sweltering summer. Whether partaking in a spot of picnicking, chilling by the pool or simply relaxing on your lawn furniture, a glass of sparkling wine is the perfect accompaniment to a bit of outdoor lounging.

Hailing from the southeast corner of Australia, Southern Cross wines have a delightful non-vintage sparkling that’s light and crisp, and not so precious or dry that you need to worry about feeling overwhelmed in the sun. With slight accents of apple and pear, the Silver Series NV comes from a single varietal and is ideal as an aperitif before luncheon or just to sip while appareled in a straw hat and shades.

Alternatively, purchase a couple of bottles and a couple dozen oysters and invite your friends round for a gourmet afternoon.

// Southern Cross Silver Series Sparkling NV can be purchased from Everwise Wine Ltd, D7, 15/F, Jian He Centre, 110 Tiyu Xi Lu, Tianhe District, Guangzhou 广州市天河区体育西路110号建和中心15楼D7 (3880 4860)
