Need an Electric Bicycle in China? Consider These 4 Things

From trendy Shanghai to the backstreets of second- and third-tier cities, electric bicycles are without a doubt one of the most convenient ways to get around China.

However, choosing an electric bicycle can be complicated. Below are four things you should consider before making a purchase.

The motor

Most electric bicycles’ motors tend to be 350 watts (W), 450W, 500W or 800W.

A high-speed motor will give you more power. However, it will drive up your energy consumption and may be a little noisy.

Low-speed motors tend to be quieter and not as high maintenance. However, you will lose out a little when it comes to efficiency.

The battery

When choosing a battery, be sure to check its voltage (V) and capacity, measured in amps (Ah).

Batteries that are higher in both voltage and capacity will ultimately allow you to ride for longer. Make sure to check how long it takes to charge the battery before making a purchase.

Suspension and comfort

Nobody likes an uncomfortable and bumpy ride! Let’s face it – occasionally, you’ll come across a few potholes.

Make sure to check before purchase that the electric bicycle you want to buy has a motorcycle-grade hydraulic shock absorber. This will not only make going over those potholes less painful but also ensure your bike holds up in the long run.

Here’s something else which will ensure you have a comfortable ride – the seating position! Sure, this may sound obvious. However, it’s worth checking before you buy. Be sure to check that the seat forms naturally into shape when you sit down.

Safety

There are a few things to think about when it comes to ensuring you ride safely.

First of all, check that the electric bicycle you want to purchase comes with quality LED headlights for a safer ride at night. Ideally, go for a bike with time-delay shutdown lights.

Of course, no electric bicycle would be safe without good brakes. For stable and shorter-distance braking, check that the electric bicycle you want to buy has good-quality disc brakes.

And finally, be sure to check the tires. Good-quality tires can make all the difference, particularly when riding on wet surfaces. Ideally, go for tires with a specially designed inclined pattern.

An electric bike you can trust

The aforementioned features are all included in the latest S07 model.

The stable and efficient BOSCH motor comes with a three-year warranty and makes for an ultra-smooth ride. Moreover, the motorcycle-grade hydraulic shock absorber comes with a two-year warranty and ensures you won’t get a shock when you go over those potholes.

When it comes to safety, the S07 certainly doesn’t fall short. The LED headlights are UV resistant and feature a time-delay shutdown. Meanwhile, the opposite dual pot disc brake makes for stability in stopping. And of course, the seat forms naturally into a comfortable shape once you sit down.
