Niccolo Changsha recently co-hosted and participated in the “2020 International Vertical Marathon Open Changsha IFS Station”.
The premier event, recognized by AVA, the Asia Pacific Vertical Marathon Association and TWA, the Towerrunning World Association, kicked off at Changsha IFS mega tower’s first floor with a finish line 452 meters high at contemporary chic hotel Niccolo Changsha.
The race finished on the skyscraper’s top floors at level 95, with participants summiting at 2,838 steps high.

General Manager Jørgen Christensen, Niccolo Changsha, joined the Vertical Marathon competition and presented the race’s distinguished achievement awards at the award ceremony
Perched above the clouds, Niccolo Changsha provided fruits and energy sports drinks to all race participants enabling everyone to rejuvenate and refuel after the race
“It was a thrilling experience to participate in the second Changsha IFS Vertical Marathon. I was impressed by the dedication, hard work and smooth operation by all event organizers. But what truly stood out was the strength and courage of all the participants, including the Niccolo Changsha team members. It was a thrill to see everyone triumphantly reaching the zenith at level 95 after taking on all 2,838 steps to reach the finish,” said Mr. Jørgen Christensen, General Manager of Niccolo Changsha.
