The most romantic day of the year is upon us: Valentine’s Day officially arrives in less than six hours!

Unfortunately, in Guangzhou and other major Chinese cities, the Feast of Saint Valentine will not be celebrated with as much gusto as previous years, due to ongoing disease prevention and control measures aimed at curbing the spread of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19).

But just because you can’t leave your apartment doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy a delicious meal with someone special… Below, we present you with three easy recipes that you can prepare at home to impress your special someone.

Organic Vegetable Salad With Vinaigrette Dressing

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic

  • 3 tablespoons champagne vinegar

  • Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 1/2 cup of olive oil

Grilled Dry Aged Australian M5 Wagyu Sirloin Steak

Ingredients:

  • 2 pieces of sirloin steak

  • Pumpkin puree

  • Carrots

  • Mushrooms

  • Asparagus

  • Broccoli

Chocolate Lava Cake With Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients:

  • 50 grams unsalted butter, plus extra, softened, to grease

  • 2 teaspoons cocoa powder

  • 50 grams good-quality dark, bitter chocolate (minimum 70% cocoa solids), in pieces

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 large egg yolk

  • 60 grams caster sugar

  • 2 tablespoons Tia Maria

  • 50 grams plain flour, sifted

  • Creme fraiche or vanilla ice cream, to serve
