Nothing symbolizes weekend indulgence quite like a diverse and delicious buffet dinner. And while there is no shortage of spectacular buffet restaurants in Guangzhou, today we want to take a few minutes to introduce you to Sense, the all-day dining restaurant located on the second floor of Conrad Guangzhou.
From the enjoyable edibles to the live music and market-style layout, Sense is a real winner and is among our preferred spots in the city to enjoy a top-quality meal with friends and family. Below, we give you five reasons to dine at Sense:
1. Champion of Cuisines

Even the pickiest diners will find something to love at Sense. The restaurant boasts an array of food stations that are set up in a ‘market-style,’ reminiscent of food stalls you might come across in Southeast Asia. Among our favorites is the Japanese cuisine-focused area, which features rolls, eight varieties of fresh sashimi, raw oysters and some of the best veggie tempura we’ve ever tasted.

There is also a station featuring high-quality meats – roasted chicken and succulent barbecued beef, and another specializing in some of the best hand-pulled noodles we’ve found south of Gansu.

Be sure not to miss the live seafood tanks, were diners can select crabs, xiaolongxia, mussels and various other shellfish to be prepared in one of four ways. Each patron will also receive a delicious half-lobster!

If you’re craving a seafood-based soup, definitely snag a bowl of the restaurant’s stellar grouper soup, which is made with a 15-kilogram fish that arrives fresh at Conrad Guangzhou each day at 4pm.

Of course, no meal is complete without dessert! After dinner, be sure to check out Sense’s ice cream booth and sweets table, the latter of which features cheese cake, brownies and fruity puddings, among other tasty treats.

2. Daily Hot Pot
A new addition to Sense’s daily buffet dinners, hot pot is now on offer – with four tasty soup bases to choose from (spicy Sichuan style and the sour tom yum are our top picks). Unlike other buffets featuring hot pot, cooking is done by diners at their private table – helping to create a communal dining experience amongst friends and fam.

A large selection of tasty edibles is available for hot pot users, including fresh seafood, premium Chaoshan beef cuts, tofu and vegetables. Meat and seafood items are all clearly labeled with cooking times at the buffet table, so that rookie hot pot diners can quickly become pros.
3. Specialty Dishes

At present, one of the stations is focused on the preparation of a delicious sea cucumber plate, while the other prepares Cantonese-style abalone.

Both dishes are full of flavor and sure to be enjoyed by seafood lovers of all stripes.
4. Live Music

Helping to set the tone, literally, is a live band, which plays an array of classic and contemporary soft rock and pop music. Catch the band every Friday and Saturday night!
