Starting Fri, Nov 22: 2019 Guangzhou Jazz Festival @ Xinghai Concert Hall
The 2019 Guangzhou Jazz Festival will kick off on November 22. The lineup of this year’s edition doesn’t fall short of previous performances either. The opening act will be staged by Branford Marsalis Quartet, which was founded by the eponymous, Grammy-winning saxophonist. Then there’s the young and gifted jazz diva Cecile McLorin Salvant, who has won three Grammy Awards in just four years. Jazz musicians from Europe and the Pearl River Delta will also be jazzing up the week-long music events.

Fri, Nov 22: Rebel Rebel Presents Kaoss GZ @ Rebel Rebel
Head over to Rebel Rebel this Friday to see Guangzhou’s newest electronic dance music duo: Kaoss GZ. Anyone into hard dance music are welcome to come see ‘Lord Garf’ and ‘Mead Master Mike’ kick off the weekend. So, grab a free glow stick and go wild at this electronic feast.

Fri, Nov 22: Xroom Presents Ouyang @ The Window

After jamming out during the glory days of rock in China, Ouyang pivoted from the rock world to the electronic scene, where he’s an up-and-coming talent in the dance music realm. Check out his set on Friday, accompanied by Dicontempo and Joe Li on the night.

Sat, Nov 23: 30 Artists, 30 Songs @ Buda Kongjian

Pay a visit to this small-scale arts and music space in Liwan district to hear raw, talented musicans perform their works. Presented by Qiii Snacks Records, this stripped-back acoustic event brings together friends and collaborators of the label and was initially inspired by an event put on by Taiwan label Petit Alp Records.
