If you stop and think about summer music, synth-pop is a likely genre to start playing in your head. When the 1970s pop genre looked to be on its way out, Brooklyn duo Great Good Fine Ok emerged in 2013 to offer fans their retro futurist works. Their single ‘You’re the One for Me’ from their 2013 EP was a hit and earned the band a place at South by Southwest that year. This month, they’ll bring their awesome tunes to Mao Livehouse.
Fri, Aug 16: William Tyler China Tour 2019 @ Brasston
William Tyler is in the midst of his China tour, and will bring his mellow instrumental music to Brasston this Friday. Having played with the likes of Ty Segall, Tyler has a knack for tasteful guitar melodies. Even if you aren’t a fan of country music, this still is a show worth attending.
Fri, Aug 16: Gin Fingerstyle Guitar Concert @ T:union

A fingerstyle guitar maven, Gin may have inherited his guitar prowess from Japan’s guitar master Isato Nakagawa. During his career, which spans more than a decade, Gin has played fingerstyle that combines folk, flamenco and classical guitar with stunning skill. The Japanese guitarist returns to China this month with his latest album It’s You, which includes ‘Sign,’ ‘Smile’ and ‘Goodbye My Love,’ – three songs that fans are sure to love.
