Beloved Guangzhou eatery Ricci Creative Eats is closing shop in Guangzhou, with its final day of operation set for this Sunday, June 9, according to a notice posted on WeChat by the restaurant. The announcement notes that the Ricci team was unable to reach an agreement with PoPark Mall, which is where the eatery has been located for the past five years.
Below, an excerpt from Ricci’s official closure announcement (edited to conform to our style guide):
“We would like to extend our sincerest thanks to everyone who has supported us for the past five years: our customers, our staff, our suppliers, PoPark management and the Guangzhou F&B community! You are all awesome and are the reason that we do what we do! Please join us from June 7 to 9 as we go out with a bang, with 15% discounts off the entire menu while supplies last!”
Now, for the good news: If you are a fan of Ricci, you’ll be happy to learn the popular Guangzhou restaurant is allegedly set to make a comeback in 2020. According to the restaurant’s closure notice: “The Ricci team will be back in a big way in 2020 with an exciting new brand, new menu and new locations!”
