While Kara Wutzke was studying to become a fitness coach, it became her goal to find the best methods of training and the most effective style to get the body she wanted. She achieved this by eating only the cleanest foods, training as hard as possible and putting her physical fitness above everything else. While on this journey to see what could be accomplished aesthetically, she found something much more significant. Transforming her body took so much more than just working on the exterior; mental strength, determination and courage are just a few of the things she learned along the path to creating the best version of herself.

Her purpose is to serve others by guiding them through their journey that combines all aspects of body, mind and emotion. By thriving on small victories and striving toward big accomplishments, she helps others become the best version of themselves.

Wutzke will demonstrate 10 daily movements to keep you fit and strong, while explaining the benefits these movements will have on your confidence and keep you feeling fresh.

Jonathan Hanlon – TCM Physician of Guangzhou United Family Hospital

TCM and Body Types: Making The Most of What Nature Gave You

Jon Hanlon is an acupuncturist and doctor of Chinese medicine at Guangzhou United Family Hospital. Using acupuncture and herbal medicine, he helps patients overcome their health issues so they can live the healthiest and happiest lives possible. Hanlon completed his university training in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) in Australia and has gone on to study with renowned TCM doctors here in China. This year marks his 14th year in professional practice and he loves it more and more each year.

One thing he's learned through his years in practice is that good health depends on both a healthy lifestyle and a healthy mental outlook. However, there is more to it than that. Each person has certain unchangeable health traits that they inherit from their parents. Harlon will teach participants how to understand these traits according to Chinese medical body types, and how to modify their lifestyle to make the most of them. At this workshop, you can learn how to play to your strengths and not waste time or effort on things that aren't likely to work for your type. Knowledge is power, and Hanlon can't wait to share these tips with you.

As an American athletic trainer, Erick Chen has spent the last 18 years working in traditional sports, entertainment and clinical physical therapy. For the past six years, he has been working in the physical therapy department at Guangzhou United Family Hospital and previously spent four years working with Cirque du Soleil in Macau.

A driving force behind Chen's philosophy of rehabilitation has been active movement. His goal is to teach patients how to reintroduce movement back into their lives after injury. With sedentary lifestyles becoming more common in society, movement is an essential part of life and is becoming a form of medicine. The question is: How to move safely? How do you prepare (or warm up) your body for high-intensity vigorous movement? Chen’s workshop will introduce participants to fundamental concepts of movement preparation. Chen and interested participants will use active mobilization techniques to enhance movement preparation, improve performance and reduce the risk of injury.

From weekend warriors to daily fitness enthusiasts, the goal is to teach multiple ways anyone can use to stay active.
