Tue, Feb 19: Trivia at Ginstar
With Chinese New Year in the rearview mirror, trivia returns to Ginstar this Tuesday from 8.30-10pm. The quiz covers a wide range of topics and subjects, from current events and pop culture to geography, literature and politics. (Photo, music and connection rounds also feature!).
Participating teams stand the chance to win a number of boozy prizes, including a bottle of Fireball, 3 liters of Carlsberg and a bottle of wine! And, as an added bonus, trivia attendees can also enjoy one of Ginstar’s renowned burgers and a pint of beer for only RMB60!

Tue-Sat, ongoing: Echoes of the Nile: Exhibition of Ancient Egyptian Civilization

Bask in ancient Egyptian civilization at this exhibition at the Guangdong Museum. A total of 235 relics straight from the Egyptian Museum in Turin are on display, exposing visitors to the dynamic everyday life, religious beliefs and memorial services of Egyptian society in the old days. They include precious mummies and sarcophagi, the mysterious Book of the Dead and ankhs, deity statues and stone tablets, among many other valuables and antiques.

Tue-Sat, ongoing: Ladies’ Night at the Connoisseur

Thu, Feb 21: Aperitivo Carnival
This Thursday the Consulate General of Italy in Guangzhou will be hosting their monthly Aperitivo Italiano with a special Carnival theme for the month of February. Chronicling the story of the Cantonese people’s struggle against foreign forces invading Canton during the first Opium War, Dancing Lion tells a story of broken families, separated lovers and unyielding courage. The creation of this award-winning dance drama took five years, but the result is an uncompromising work that will amaze audiences.

Sat, Feb 23: Dynamic Yunnan

This original stage show, directed by renowned dancer Yang Liping, is a blend of tradition and modernity, fusing local Yunnan songs and dances with modern characteristics. It is a moving exhibition of Yunnan’s dynamic ethnic customs, comprising a total of nine different programs to showcase Yunnan at its best.
