Fri, Jan 25: Chiken Pest @ Mao Livehouse
One of Guangdong’s best known hip hop groups, Chiken Pest, return to Mao Livehouse to take part in this fantastic event alongside a number of other great underground artists. While Chikenpest are best known for their humorous, diss-oriented tunes, you can catch a mix of styles on show Friday evening.

Fri, Jan 25: J Hoon @ SD Livehouse

Guangxi musician J Hoon, who now spends his time in Hong Kong, brings his mixture of hip hop and drum and bass to SD Livehouse. We’re seeing more of these underground Cantonese hip hop acts from SD and it’s great. Guangzhou’s very own Pete Chen, who has production credits on a number of records over the past few years, put his own particular spin on ‘Modern Li Bai’ a track from Hoon's album, Hyundai.

Sat, Jan 26: Synthesizer Communication @ Brasston
This event is a three-course meal. Starting out with a workshop on various types of musical synthesizers, moving forward to a small live show at SJT and finally do a live performance and improvisational show at Brasston in the evening. For anyone keen on electronics, this will be a spiffing day out.

Sun, Jan 27: Ma Rong @ 191 Space
A graduate of Midi Music Academy, Ma Rong has had a good year after the release of a number of new singles. The cap-adorned singer songwriter’s star is on the rise thanks to his uniquely average image and his rabid work rate.
