Tue, Jan 22: Alexander Korsantia Piano Concerto

Hailing from Georgia, international award-winning pianist Alexander Korsantia will be in town this week to present a piano concert, performing ‘Piano Sonata Op.35 No.2’ by Chopin, ‘Mazurkas for piano,’ among many other classic tunes.

Wed, Jan 23 and Fri, Jan 25: Guangzhou Long-Lions vs. Bayi Rockets, Liaoning Flying Leopards

The Guangzhou Long-Lions have two home games this week, facing off against the Bayi Rockets on Wednesday, January 23, and the Liaoning Flying Leopards on Friday, January 25. Both games will start at 7.35pm and will be played at Tianhe Gymnasium located in the southwest corner of Tianhe Sports Center. The Long-Lions look to capitalize on a struggling Rockets team that is in desperate need of new talent, while Friday night’s showdown with the Flying Leopards could be a statement win if the Guangzhou squad defeats the league’s top ranked team.

Fri-Sun, Jan 25-27: Swan Lake by Roma City Ballet

Roma City Ballet is one of Italy’s top dance troupes, critically acclaimed for their elegant dance moves which evoke deep human emotions. This weekend, they arrive at Guangzhou Opera House ready to perform an all-time classic, Swan Lake.

Thu, Jan 26: Australia Day BBQ
Australia Day, unsurprisingly enough, is the official national day of Australia. For Guangzhou’s Aussie community, a big celebration will be held on January 26 at Crowne Plaza Guangzhou City Centre, where attendees will be treated to premium Australian food and free flow Australian wines and beers. In addition to traditional barbecue, sports and games will also be prepared for all to enjoy. Last but not least, a lucky draw will offer amazing prizes for the lucky attendees!
